Planby PRO — Customizable React Component for Schedule Management

Project Background: Planby PRO was designed to address the growing need for an efficient, customizable, and scalable solution for displaying schedules, timelines, TV guides, live streaming events, and more. As businesses and developers in industries like media, entertainment, and event management often deal with complex, data-heavy applications, the goal was to provide a React-based component that could easily integrate into existing systems while providing a seamless user experience. The component was built with the aim to handle large data sets, support multiple viewing modes (vertical/horizontal), and allow for quick customizations to fit specific project needs.

Challenges Faced: During the development of Planby PRO, the primary challenges included:

1️⃣ Handling large datasets: We needed to build a system that could efficiently manage and display large amounts of data without sacrificing performance or responsiveness.

2️⃣ Customizability: The component needed to be adaptable to various design needs, ensuring that it could be easily integrated into different user interfaces and meet the unique requirements of different industries.

3️⃣ User experience: Ensuring an intuitive, user-friendly interface for both developers integrating the component and end-users interacting with the schedule or timeline view.

4️⃣ Integration: Making sure the component could be seamlessly integrated into third-party UI libraries with minimal setup and configuration.

Project Execution Process: The development of Planby PRO began with a deep dive into the specific needs of our target audience. We gathered input from developers and businesses in relevant industries, then defined the core features required to meet these needs. From there, we moved into a modular design approach, ensuring each feature could be easily customized, updated, or replaced without disrupting the overall system.

The project followed an agile development cycle, with iterations focused on improving performance, refining the user interface, and adding new features based on user feedback. A key aspect of the development process was building a custom virtual view system, which allowed the component to scale and handle large amounts of data without compromising performance.

Tools and Frameworks Used:

React, Redux, CSS-in-JS (styled-components), D3.js (for advanced visualizations), and Node.js.
