Silhouette America, a US-based provider of crafting machines, design software, and materials, needed to consolidate its two existing platforms into a single, unified solution. The company faced challenges with inadequate web design for its product catalog, fragmented data management across multiple systems with large amounts of corrupted or redundant data, and a lack of capability to migrate large volumes of rich media and text. Over a 20-week engagement, the team implemented a centralized Magento 2 platform using Magento, core PHP, core React, and Java. The work entailed revamping the site interfaces for individual products, eliminating redundant data, improving backup processes, and integrating offline software and machine data. The resulting multi-vendor marketplace unified operations, centralized dispersed records into a single back-end repository connected to legacy systems, and provided a streamlined shopping experience.
