Description
Time8 started with a problem BB8 ran into internally: as the team grew, knowing who was available and working got scattered across Google Forms, Google Calendar, and messaging apps, with no single place to see it clearly. Existing market tools brought excessive features at high per-user costs and expected a team to restructure how it worked just to fit the software.
We validated the idea by using it ourselves, then talked to companies well beyond BB8's own footprint, especially in HoReCa, restaurants, cafes, hotels, where shift scheduling and availability drive how the entire day runs. That research reshaped the product around checking availability, building shift schedules, and tracking who's on at any moment, in one place.
We rebuilt the product as a multi-tenant SaaS from the ground up: isolated workspaces, users, and data per organization, on Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Supabase. UX and UI work in Figma focused on shift workers specifically, information visible without digging through menus, team status at a glance, fast schedule changes. Development ran as one continuous, AI-assisted process using Claude Code, with a single product-experienced developer leading architecture, code, and iteration together instead of handing off between roles, covering authentication, integrations, database work, and security policies along the way.
Time8.io launched as a working SaaS product, tested directly at trade shows and in live demos with the managers who'd actually use it, and picked up its first operational customers within three months of starting.
Project Outcomes
- From concept to a working, multi-tenant SaaS product with paying customers in about three months, built by a team of five
- Attracted first operational customers, validated through trade shows and live demos with team managers
- Multi-tenant architecture with isolated workspaces per organization, built on Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Supabase
- Built using AI-assisted development with Claude Code as the core method,
- Development continues based on direct customer feedback
Target Audience
Time8 serves teams that run on shifts, especially HoReCa businesses like restaurants, cafes, and hotels, plus project-based teams coordinating who's available day to day. They need a fast answer to who's working today without checking five different tools, a simple way to update a shift schedule, and information that's visible at a glance.
Why Us
This project earns recognition because it proves a real capability: AI-assisted development took an idea inside BB8 to a SaaS product with paying customers, built end to end by one developer working continuously with Claude Code.
